2016 is looking like it will be a very productive year for Witham Chamber of Commerce.

At the year-end in April 2014 we were expecting around 12 members to re-join but due to a complete change of committee, some great networking events, campaigning on member’s issues and a high profile championing of local business we have already recruited over 65 members. This recruitment drive has included personal visits to many local businesses by our chair, Tina Townsend and MP Priti Patel raising their profiles via social media, the press and newsletters.  We also introduced a discounted first year membership for new start-ups which includes support and training offered by Ignite Business Enterprise Ltd and other businesses.

Added to this the chamber meetings have recently outgrown our previous venue with the draw of regular speakers including the Police, a Google Freelance Educator and more to come in the coming months.

We have recently introduced a youth chamber which is about to have its first formal meeting but has already been working to support a fundraising event for Witham Luncheon Club, the Chambers Charity of the Year

Behind the scenes sterling work has also been done to improve the chamber’s corporate image including a new website www.withamchamber.co.uk .  Look out for the new chamber logo, designed by Maltings Academy student Harry Pudney, on our stationery and website as well as windows and cars around the town.
